Hey, my name's Claire. I'm 18 years old and an ambassador for the Canadian Gap Year Association. This year I'm taking a gap year in a place different from home, which is Warrington in England.
So over the past year, being locked up because of the pandemic, it really gave me a lot of time to think about myself. And you know what I really want in life and what I found is that I don't know yet and that's one of the big reasons I decided to take a Gap Year.
Recently, what I've been doing since I moved to Mornington is looking for a job, making some videos and just really trying to go on a lot of walks. I've been feeling so stuck inside over the past year, like I mentioned before, just walking somewhere new is really enjoyable for me.

My goal in terms of job and career and CV basically this year, is to continue working with something in the environment, basically because that's what I'm going into for my degree, but also because it's something that really interests me and so far with that I'm continuing an internship with a tourism for conservation business.
So I have a lot of hobbies! I really like figure skating, which is something I did when I was younger, but something that you know, I was just getting back into it this year. I'm really lucky that during my gap year I'm able to skate with my boyfriend and do some different type of figure skating than I was doing before, which is in pairs, so I'm super excited about that.
In pairs basically, like he lifts you above his head and it's really scary, but I'm getting into it now and I'm really enjoying it so far.

I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to be on so many different adventures in the past, and I'm looking forward to what this next year has in store.

As you can see, I've got quite a lot to get up to, but I can't wait to get started and bring you along on the journey with me.
